Okay lets face it. It had been a while since I actually worked out and focused on my nutrition. Over the summer I was taking an EMT course and working full time, which kicked my booty!! So I committed myself to 21 Days of focusing on simple fitness, simple nutrition and amazing results!
Day 1, went really well! I ate all my containers exactly, I took my before pictures, and felt really good about how everything went. The same could be said about the full first week actually, I didn't really make any fancy recipes (unless you count salad a fancy recipe), I simply made foods that fit in my containers and ate them straight out of the containers! On day 7 I felt really good! I looked in the mirror and was seeing some definition in my stomach, my waist felt TINY and I had more energy than I had had in a while! I decided to retake my measurements and weigh myself.
I. Was. Shocked.
I was down 6lbs, and 10.5 inches. In 7 days.

I am aware that it was mostly water weight that I was holding in my stomach, but I was excited for the next two weeks!
The next week was not as perfect with nutrition and I was actually up a 2 lbs from the week prior. Never the less I finished the last week strong and was happy to say that I was down 12 inches and 3 lbs.
The nutrition plan is amazingly easy to follow! You have color containers that are different sizes, and each color represents a food group. So here's an example. Kale is on the list of foods that fit into the green container. So I fill up the green container with kale and that's one green for the day. Each calorie bracket has a different amount of containers allowed, so for me, I needed to eat three greens a day, so I would fill up that container three times a day with a food that was on the approved list and I was set!
There was no calorie counting, no mapping percentages of macro-nutrients, no wraps and there wasn't any weird nasty green juice I had to drink 12 times a day. It was nutrition, simplified.
The workouts were fun too! They were 30 minutes long, and you had two active recovery days each week. They had cardio, light weight lifting and some serious toning moves! The catch was that each move you had to do for a full minute. Autumn is constantly telling you that you can do anything for 60 seconds, but sometimes I felt like the clock wasn't moving at all!! But you did feel extremely accomplished afterwards!
I think the tipping point for me was shakeology. I struggle with cravings like none other! I often feel like I just NEED a chocolate bar or I'm going to die. But after only a few days of drinking shakeology I didn't have a single craving. I was kind of shocked! I was able to eat clean foods and enjoy them because I didn't feel like I was being deprived of my Hershey's, it made it made it so much easier to stay on track!!
After finishing the program I was fired up and ready to see some more positive changes in my body!
